A Refreshing Light Rain in Hong Kong, a comic

I recently wrapped up a few weeks in Southeast Asia, and over the next few newsletters, I wanted to share a few of my favorite comics and sketches I made while there.
It was two trips that were back to back, with a short return to Atlanta in between. I was in China and Vietnam for sixteen days, home for a week and then Japan for 10 days.
You: "Wait. Mike. You flew for 14 hours to Southeast Asia, stayed for a few weeks, and flew 14 hours back only to do it all again a week later?"
Me: "Yes! Sort of! The flights were actually much longer than 14 hours."
You: "Why didn't you just plan the trips to overlap?"
Me: "Great question!"
It started with a two-week visit to Hong Kong. I was invited by an international school to spend a week with their students. We talked about books, drawing, sketchbook stuff, and even one presentation on PUNS. The kids and librarians who hosted me were incredible, and I really loved this part of the trip.
At the end of each school day, I would return to my hotel room, and in an attempt to avoid falling asleep and messing up the jet lag situation, I would pack a small backpack and explore the city. I saw a lot. I averaged 12 miles of walking (this was typically after a day of presentations!). I carried a sketchbook with me everywhere I went.
Here's a short comic about one night of walking around.
More comics and sketchbook pages coming soon!
Thanks for reading.
